SF: Many with children planning to leave city

iB::Topic::Many with children planning to leave city

I guess I can't blame people with kids for wanting out of SF, but the article did not indicate where these people intended to resettle. Will they bring their lifestyle and mindset with them and disrupt their new locations, turning them toward the mess they chose to flee?

brainless but rabid gop comment, 2 bright points tho!

Baldy, I agree that it may be a cause for concern. But, We may be talkling about family flight instead of white flight from the cities. No matter what happens, it will be Bush's fault that he did not micromanage the country down to the city level.

Quote
Mayor Gavin Newsom said there's already a lot the city is doing to make San Francisco friendly to families, such as beefed-up funding for subsidized child care and health insurance for young people, the upgrading of neighborhood libraries, more money for park improvements and a growing commitment from City Hall to help fund the public schools.

Still, he said, more needs to be done, particularly in helping low-income and middle-class families obtain affordable housing.

Let's see if I understand this logic by the mayor. I want to keep more families in town by providing more entitlement programs that in turn cause the tax rate to increase thereby giving our poor families fewer dollars to raise their children in homes that they cannot afford because they are inflated in value thereby causing their property taxes to be outrageous.

The Gays should be up in arms about this since they will be the hardest hit monetarily, since they tend to have the higher paying jobs (the ones that are not sick and dying from HIV and draining the healthcare system) and will be paying the most taxes to educate kids that are not their own (two males cannot make babies).

How do they fund the public schools in SF? With tax dollars! I think Newsome is trying to create a Nagin-hood in San Fran. (people all dependent upon the government to provide for them at poverty level and they in turn give them their vote)

Newsome also wants to get more kids in school, so they can get more tax money. Here is the formula for funding schools in a nutshell. More kids + more poor kids on free lunches = More money from the feds and the state. And if a mayor can boast about more money in the schools and school betterment then they can retain their power in the next election.

Here is your solution Mayor Newsome; lower your taxes, reduce the crime rate, get the drugs out of the schools, improve the quality of teachers (no homosexual teachers), reward the teachers for improved performance by the students, curtail the open homosexual agenda, and begin championing students who perform academically and reward them with scholarships. Don't dumb down the children, challenge them and smarten them up. Parents will flock to safe schools who will help their children acheive academically. Parents will flee unsafe conditions or academically poor environments. target the middle-class families since they are the ones with the money and the brighter students. Don't waste your money trying to give entitlements to the lower class. By doing the above you will in turn help the lower classes.
